An incredible sunflower field is open to all this bank holiday weekend.

The Duncan family farm in Field Dalling, near Holt is open this bank holiday for people to enjoy a stunning field full of sunflowers thanks to Isobel Duncan.

Opening from 10am to sunset from Friday, August 25 to August 27, and from 10am to 5pm on August 28, people are welcome to come along to pick their own flowers, sample some homemade ice cream, or just enjoy the spectacle.

“Sunflowers have always been my favourite flower, so my dad, James Duncan, and I decided to grow some, he thought if it didn’t go so well we could leave the flowers for the birds to feast on during the long winter months,” Miss Duncan said.

“The road has been a little bumpy, although my dad has sown many crops in his life, he has never sown sunflowers. The original plan was to try to open for all of August, but when the time came we thought the crop wasn’t good enough so shelved the idea.

“However on a gorgeous evening in mid-August, I camped with my close friends in the field and at this moment I realised that even though our sunflower field was not up to our perfectionist standards, it was beautiful to be around and brought us all so much joy.

"I decided it was selfish to not share this joy.”

The family has been farming for decades, with Miss Duncan growing up there with her sister Harriet, and brother Angus.
