A gastropub on the outskirts of Norwich is celebrating 40 years in business with a big bank holiday beer festival.

The event takes place at The Kings Head in Bawburgh from Saturday, August 26 until Monday, August 28, raising money for Norwich Stroke Survivors Club and Cancer Research UK.

There will be a range of craft beers available from local breweries alongside spirits and cocktails, with a raffle at the event too.

Food will be served from 12noon to 8pm over the weekend and from 12noon to 4pm on Monday, including a barbecue and seafood platters.

Anton Wimmer, whose family has run The Kings Head since 1983, said: "It is going to be our biggest event to date and we will be offering a tempting selection of food showcasing local produce from across East Anglia, with 20 craft beers from 12 incredible local breweries.

"Plus, one of our team is getting dunked in the river on Saturday evening and it will probably be me, so come along for a laugh too - don’t forget to sponsor us though!"
