A father and son duo from Norwich are enjoying a huge slice of success thanks to their new partnership with supermarket giant Asda.

Mike Hill, 59 and his son Joe, 31, started One Planet Pizza in 2016 after spotting a gap in the market for high-quality, frozen vegan pizzas.

It grew from Mike's garage to a production unit in Hethersett in 2018 and in January 2023 the pair got their 'Peppernomi' pizza stocked at 400 Asda stores, including the two Norwich branches.

Joe said: "I was recently in Bristol and popped into Asda where I saw our shelf was empty.

"I asked a member of staff and she said she had filled the freezer that morning and by midday it was empty - she was genuinely shocked."

To meet demand, production has now moved to the Netherlands and the factory produces around 4,000 pizzas a week.

Joe said: "We needed a bigger factory, but because of Brexit it was not worth it in the UK and it makes it difficult to export across Europe."

It is a move that has paid off as One Planet Pizza has just been stocked at 120 Jumbo supermarkets in the Netherlands.
