A mystery fashion brand is coming to Chantry Place, with centre owners teasing it would consolidate Norwich as the region’s “top shopping destination”.

The brand will take over the former Sports Direct shop next Easter, following the sports brands move into House of Fraser this autumn.

And while details remain scant, general manager of Chantry Place, Paul McCarthy, revealed the new shop would be the brand’s first Norwich store.

He said: “As soon as Sports Direct moves into its new home in Frasers, we’ll start getting the new shopfront and layout sorted for the new tenants.

“It’s a brand-new offering for the city, and it will undoubtedly enhance Norwich’s credentials as the top shopping destination not just in Norfolk, but the whole region.

“Leases are signed, and the company is really excited to tell the whole world about their plans for the centre.”

Chantry Place has seen lots of change in the last year with the opening of Urban Outfitters, Moda in Pelle and Lisa Angel.

It comes during an uncertain time for the high street, with Wilko, Argos and Clintons - all of which have stores in Norwich - recently announcing closures.
