A couple is planning to continue the success of a north Norfolk gastropub by introducing a more laidback atmosphere with small plates and a cocktail menu.

Rachael and Jeremy Parke, who previously worked at No.Twenty9 Burnham Market, are the sommelier and chef duo who have taken on The Duck Inn in Stanhoe.

They are planning to stick to the pub's culinary roots but will create a more relaxed setting including in the "chill-out" garden room where guests can play vinyl and recline in comfortable armchairs.

Mrs Parke said: "We're keeping a similar atmosphere and style of food to the previous owners so nothing will be a huge shock to customers.

"We'll be focusing on using seasonal and fresh local produce which Jeremy will change every couple of months."

Dishes on the menu include cod with celeriac risotto, sage, capers and caviar and a ribeye steak with hand-cut chips.

The pub was previously owned by Ben and Sarah Handley who were at the helm from 2013.

Mr Handley said: "The team over the years at The Duck Inn has been so inspiring, delivering consistently good service and products."
