Liz Truss has addressed talk of her taking part in this year's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!.

Rumours have been swirling that the MP for South West Norfolk and former prime minister would appear on the ITV reality show this autumn.

But Ms Truss' press secretary has now quashed the reports.

He said: “Liz has not been approached about appearing on the next series of I'm A Celeb

"Even if she were approached, the answer would be a firm no.”

A reality TV appearance wouldn't be the first time Ms Truss took a second job with the 48-year-old receiving £189,200 for four speeches across the globe.

Boris Johnson was also rumoured to be entering the jungle with the new series set to hit screens in November.

Other MPs who have been on the reality show include Matt Hancock, Nadine Dorries and Edwina Currie.
