One of north Norfolk's most treasured tea rooms will shut next month after its owners announced they would be "ending their chapter" at the cafe.

The Folly Tearoom, at Hoppers Yard in Holt, will shut its doors for good after being taken on by new management in 2020.

It announced its closure via social media, stating that the "time had come" to close the business and move on to other ventures.

The post said: "Our hearts are breaking to have to say goodbye but unfortunately the time has come.

"We are truly grateful for every one of you that has welcomed us into your lives and more importantly your hearts over the past few years."

The cafe has an outdoor garden and interior designed with an Alice in Wonderland theme which was loved by visitors who flocked there for its cakes and afternoon teas.

It will close its doors for the final time on Saturday, September 23.
