A village pub has reopened with new tenants after six months of closure and the first week has been a roaring success.

Pints are being poured behind the bar once more at The Black Lion in Little Walsingham, near Wells-next-the-Sea, under new operators Andy and Izzy Robinson.

The couple is already known locally for running The Carpenters Arms in nearby Wighton for the last five years.

Both pub buildings are owned by Phil Parker and when the previous tenants left The Black Lion at the start of the year, the pair decided to take on a second premises.

The Black Lion has been taken back to its traditional roots with bookshelves, candlesticks and antique furniture and it is dog-friendly.

After a few days of settling in, the food menu launched on Wednesday (July 26), which heavily utilises local produce.

This includes Walsingham Estate sirloin steak with chips and cod with Salthouse Marsh samphire, King's Lynn shrimp and Norfolk peer potatoes.
