As we celebrate Norfolk Day, the county’s largest brewer – Woodforde’s – is raising a pint to our wonderful county.

Norfolk is more than just where we all live. It is the source of everything that makes a pint of Woodforde’s so great.

Woodforde’s has been brewing delicious beers in Norfolk since 1981, including its famous, multi-award-winning Wherry, and its recent European Beer Challenge double gold winner Nelson’s.

Joe Parks, chief executive at Woodforde’s, said: “Norfolk Day is one of our favourite dates on the calendar – a chance to celebrate everything that makes our county so great.

“We have everything here – beautiful countryside, friendly people and, of course, the best food and drink in Britain.

“As the beer of Norfolk, we are proud of the way we champion our county. And you can taste that pride in every pint we brew. We owe the county for providing the top-quality ingredients in our beers.

“Not only is Norfolk the heartland of Maris Otter barley, which gives our beer the distinct flavour we all know and love, the water used in our beer comes directly from an ancient aquifer right under our home in Woodbastwick.

“Our beers are Norfolk through and through – and we couldn’t be prouder of it.”

To mark the big day, Woodforde’s is offering to sponsor a grassroots sports team for a year.

“We are proud of our home county and to our loyal customers who have made Woodforde’s the success it is.  It is only fair we return that love and invest in the organisations making a real difference to our local area,” said Mr Parks.

“The county’s playing fields, pitches and sports centres are home to a plethora of teams that play such a huge role in their local community, and we want to play our part in supporting them.

“We would like to find a grassroots team to sponsor for the year and would love to hear your suggestions on our Facebook page.

“Get in touch to let us know if your team is the perfect fit.”
