An inquest has opened into the tragic death of the second Norfolk police officer to die in the space of two weeks.

Martin Scott, a serving police officer, was found dead in a home in Clements Avenue on Wymondham, just a five minute drive from the constabulary's headquarters. He was 35.

A hearing at Norfolk Coroner's Court on Thursday heard that Mr Scott lived in Hellesdon and was born in Norwich.

His medical cause of death was given as hanging.

His death, on July 13, came a fortnight after Richard Dennis, another serving officer, was found dead in his home in Ingoldsithorpe, near King's Lynn.

Following Mr Scott's death, a Go Fund Me page has been set up in his memory, which has raised more than £7,000.

Senior coroner Jacqueline Lake adjourned the hearing for a full inquest on December 12.
