The Large Visitor Attraction of the Year category at the East of England Tourism Awards 2023-2024 will recognise an outstanding business that offers a truly memorable visitor experience to guests.

“A business that offers a range of activities for everyone, providing a great all-round day out while continually trying to make improvements to further the visitor experience, would make a stand-out entry,” said Joanna Nicholls, partner at category sponsor Howes Percival, and one of the judges for this award.

Ms Nicholls said it is important to recognise the successes of large visitor attractions in our region as they attract a range of people from all over the UK.

“Large visitor attractions play a vital role within the tourism sector, and it is important to recognise the significant contribution they make to local communities,” she explained.

“I would therefore encourage businesses to put themselves forward to highlight the brilliant work that is being done.”

Local people who have had an amazing experience at a local large attraction can also nominate the business themselves, to ensure that the staff who help to create these experiences are recognised.

“It is important to acknowledge the teams who work incredibly hard, despite ongoing challenges, and go the extra mile to provide meaningful experiences for visitors,” said Ms Nicholls.

Entrants in this category should be directly involved in the tourism sector and making a wider contribution to the visitor economy.

Ms Nicholls said that this is key because “the visitor economy not only makes a direct contribution to local growth and jobs, but also offers wider benefits to local communities”.

And for the overall winner of Large Visitor Attraction of the Year, this award offers a chance to put your business in the spotlight.

“By winning this award, a business can put themselves firmly on the list of coveted places to visit and gain national recognition,” said Ms Nicholls.

The deadline for entries and nominations is Sunday, September 17, 2023. Please visit tourismawards.co.uk for more information or to submit an entry or nomination. You can also find out about the awards and all the categories in the launch supplement.
