A vicar has swapped pews for pints after becoming the landlord of a pub - and the local happens to be right opposite the village church.
The Falcon in Pulham Market has been taken over by partners Carl Melville and Steve Smart, with Mr Melville's day job as a parish priest in Bacton a far cry from his new venture.
He will become Pulham Market's parish priest in September but will be spending his weeknights helping his partner pull pints.
The couple hopes to change the location's reputation as a "drinkers' pub" by becoming more community-focused and introducing food options to create a welcoming atmosphere.
Mr Melville said: "Funnily enough, at the heart of both the church and the pub is people.

"The church helps the community and offers everyone a place to go, which is not much different from your local pub.
"People have come in and said that they're regulars at the church but now they can pop in and have a pint after the service.
"Lots of priests have hobbies on the side, mine just happens to be one that involves hospitality."
The Falcon's rustic interior has been kept by its new owners, but some new additions include plans to open its kitchen later this year, with pub classics such as fish and chips on the menu.

Its opening night on July 14 was a huge success, with street food, live music and plenty of pints pulled.
Mr Melville added: "We were overjoyed that the opening went smoothly and everyone that came to see us was pleased to have their local pub back open."
