A popular brunch spot has opened the doors to its sister café in Chapelfield Gardens.

Number 33, in Exchange Street, has launched the second venue at the site which used to be home to Harry's Bar and Restaurant and Pedro's.

No.33 in the Park will offer all the breakfasts, brunches and cakes the café is known for, plus milkshakes, ice cream and draft beer.

Creating 28 jobs, the premises can sit around 60 people inside and 30 outside.

It has cost around £300,000 to get the café up and running, a "horrifying amount" according to owner Nichola Hay.

No.33 was voted Eat Out’s Best Breakfast winner in 2021 and is often seen with queues out the door - but Miss Hay wants to "hone in on those people" put off by the wait.

She said: "We have been overwhelmed at how busy it has been now people know we are open. It is very much a family place with lots of dogs here.

"It is nervewracking - it takes me back 17 years to when we opened Exchange Street.

"It is so exciting getting it ready and then the doors open and you worry if anyone will come, but we have already got to the point we are thinking we might need more tables.

"It is lovely to have a café in the centre of the city in a green space but it feels alien having two cafés now."

Food is also available from the side hatch, including takeaway alcoholic drinks and ice creams.

No.33 in the Park will be open seven days a week from 8am until 5.30pm, plus later opening for events such as the Lord Mayor's Weekend and Norwich Pride.
