A man has been airlifted to hospital after he was involved in a plane crash at a grand estate in Suffolk.
Emergency services were called to reports of a light aircraft crash in the grounds of Heveningham Hall at around 5.10pm on Thursday.
The pilot, a man, has since been airlifted to hospital having sustained serious injuries.
No one else was on board the plane.
Police believe the pilot was attempting to land the plane at the time of the incident.
An area of Heveningham Hall has been cordoned off while officers deal with the incident and the Air Accidents Investigation Branch has been informed.
Fire crews from Harleston, Princes Street, Framlingham, and Lowestoft South were called at around 5.10pm to reports that a "light aircraft" had crashed at Heveningham Hall Estate, near Halesworth.
One person was said to be on board but it is currently unknown whether they sustained any injuries.
The news comes shortly before the hall is set to host its annual country fair, expecting thousands of visitors across the July 8 to 9 weekend.
The hall and its grounds are owned by Jon Hunt, who purchased the 5000-acre site in 1994.
