A pooch who started his life in care as a puppy has found himself back at an animal sanctuary seeking his final home for retirement.

Labrador cross Max was one when he found himself in rescue before he was rehomed and spent nine happy years with his new family.

Now, at the age of 10, his owners have passed away and he finds himself back where he started.

A spokeswoman for PACT Animal Sanctuary said: "Since being with us, we have found Max to be a very happy lad who is always pleased to see you.

"He enjoys interaction with his handlers and his favourite game is playing catch with a tennis ball.

"He is non-reactive to other dogs while out on a walk so is therefore suitable for social lead walks with other dogs.

"Max definitely possesses the typical Labrador trait of being a complete foodie and is certainly not fussy."

Max needs to be in a home with children over 10 years old as he has not previously had children around him and he will also need to be the only dog in the household.

He is not suitable to be homed with cats and requires a minimum of 5ft garden boundaries.

Max suffers from occasional flare-ups of his skin and ears due to allergies and as this is a pre-existing health issue, PACT will continue to cover this.
