A Norfolk-born BBC commentator known as the "voice of Formula 1" has been sacked following sexual harassment allegations.

Jack Nicholls, from Sparham, near Reepham, has been let go by IMG - a BBC Radio 5 producer - amid an ongoing investigation into claims of inappropriate behaviour by three women.

An IMG spokesman said: "IMG has decided to part ways with Jack Nicholls in light of the incidents that led to his departure from Formula E."

Nicholls was previously sacked by Formula E ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix last month when allegations emerged of misconduct.

According to the Metro, one accuser was a younger member of staff who was in a relationship with Nicholls, while the other two complaints were made by witnesses rather than those affected.

Following the Formula E sacking, Nicholls said in a statement: "Although disappointed with the decision, I respect it and accept why it was taken.

"I want to take full responsibility for what I did and apologise unreservedly for a couple of isolated incidents that have made those concerned feel uncomfortable."
