A pub that has changed hands countless times has now found its new owners committed to bringing back its community presence.

The Falcon in Pulham Market is being taken over by partners Carl Melville and Steve Smart, with Carl's day job as a parish priest in Suffolk a far cry from his new venture.

Known as a drinker's pub, the couple hopes to change its reputation by becoming a local hub and introducing food from their onsite kitchen.

Mr Melville said: "Our main goal is to bring great quality food and live music to locals and plan to get involved in events in the village.

"Steve has always worked in hospitality and has managed several pubs for years now, the opportunity to run The Falcon came up and we fell in love with the place, he knew he would be able to have an impact there".

The Falcon's rustic interior will be maintained but there will be some new additions including a kitchen with pub classics like fish and chips on the menu.

There will be a fun-filled relaunch night on Friday, July 14 with street food, live music and plenty of pints pulled.
