Beccles: Hippersons Boatyard wins Tripadvisor award

Hippersons Boatyard in Beccles provides holiday homes, boat and canoe hire and self-catering accommodations to visitors.

The business is owned by Simon and Mary Sparrow who say it is "flattering" to have their hard work recognised.

Mrs Sparrow said: "We are thrilled to have won the trip advisor award 2023, which is based on people's experiences who have stayed with us, and shows people love their time here.

"It is really flattering for us to be recognised with this award for the second year on the bounce.

"We all work really hard and our staff take immense pride in their work so the award is nice recognition of our efforts.

"Many of our guests, perhaps 30pc now are return visitors, which highlights the rapport we build with our guests."

The Sparrows have run the River Waveney firm for nine years and say their success is partly down to having "great relationships" with other businesses in the town.

Mrs Sparrow said: "Beccles is a lovely place to come and stay. We love outreaching with other local businesses, such as booking guests in for dinner at various places across the town.

"In the town, we are lucky to have great relationships with so many great businesses and we are working in partnership with them, it is amazing."

Beccles is a key access point to the Southern Broads network and the owners say they are doing their bit to promote it.

"The Southern Broads is an amazing place to explore, there are so many places for people to visit. Life is so hectic and we are aware of this so try and make people's stay here to be as relaxing as possible," Mrs Sparrow said.
