1. Benedicts, 9 St Benedicts Street 

When available: Friday and Saturday: 12noon-2pm

Price: Three courses plus bread and butter: £32, wine pairing (three glasses): additional £26

Fine dining spot Benedicts is run by powerhouse couple Richard and Katja Bainbridge and it holds three coveted AA rosettes for culinary excellence.

You can tuck into three delicious courses at lunchtime, with the menu changing every few weeks, and it is also a great time to visit as it recently underwent a big refurbishment. 

The Good Food Guide recently included Benedicts in its round-up of the best value set lunches in Britain.

2. Farmyard, 23 St Benedicts Street

​When available: Tuesday to Friday: 12noon-2.30pm/5pm-6.30pm, Saturday: 12noon-3pm 

Price: Two courses with a drink: £27, three courses with a drink: £32

Just down the street, Farmyard, run by another dynamic duo Hannah Springham and chef Andrew Jones, Farmyard also holds 3 AA rosettes and both restaurants are in The Michelin Guide 2023.

Choose from a range of dishes that utilise seasonal and local produce and the set lunch now includes a drink and runs until early evening, so it is perfect for pre-theatre dining.

3. Gem of Norwich, 2-6 Thorpe Road

​When available: Available every weekday apart from bank holidays, special occasions and match days

Price: Two courses (starter and main): £12.50

Enjoy a taste of the Mediterranean at this fabulous Turkish restaurant, located just a stone's throw from Norwich Station.

The starter choices include halloumi, falafel or barbecue chicken wings and you can tuck into dishes such as chicken shish or shakshuka as a main.

4. Middletons Steakhouse and Grill, 11-15 Timber Hill 

​When available: Monday-Saturday: 12noon-5pm 

Price: Two courses: £11.95, three courses: £13.95

Head to historic Timber Hill and order a great value set lunch at Middletons, which has restaurants across East Anglia.

The main options include chargrilled minute steak, fish and chips or a cheeseburger and the price includes a side.

5. Shiki, 6 Tombland 

​When available: Tuesday-Saturday: 12noon-2pm

Price: Bento box: £16

Tuck into authentic Japanese cuisine at Shiki in Tombland, which offers top-notch food in a stylish, yet casual, setting.

The bento boxes consist of a main, such as fried chicken or salmon in teriyaki sauce, a sushi or vegetable side, rice and miso soup.
