A Great Yarmouth discount retailer is expanding with plans to open new stores in Norwich and Lowestoft.

Mom's Cash and Carry, set up by Stuart Dodson, has seen huge success since it opened in the town's Victoria Arcade in 2021.

Last summer it moved to a bigger site in King Street as more and more people sought bargains during the cost of living crisis.

The business operates through selling cut-price household goods and groceries, but is different to Costco, as items don't have to be bought in bulk and there is no need for a membership.

Mr Dodson is now almost ready to open his second location at The Britten Centre in Lowestoft.

"You can see that the business had grown so much over the past years," he said. "I put it all down to the food prices and the cost of living.

"It took a while to get people used to the idea but in the end, it has worked out really well.

"We've had lots of customers asking us to open a Lowestoft location and now it is finally happening."

The business sells cut-price products which it sources from clearance sales, surplus stocks or products with damaged packaging.

Mom's Cash and Carry sells Belvita Biscuits for £1.50, compared to Asda, which stocks them for £2.99.

It will be opening the Lowestoft store in the coming months, with plans to expand to Norwich later in the year.
