Pitch fees from a newly-launched farmers’ market will be put towards rebuilding a village hall which was destroyed by fire.

The market will take place at the Walsingham recreation ground, with pitch fees benefitting a ‘village hall rebuild fund’ after the building was burned to the ground on January 30.

The first such market took place at the end of May, and more will take place on June 25, July 30, August 20, September 24, October 29, November 26 and December 10.

Each event runs from 10am to 2pm.

A spokesman for the farmer's market events said: “The first market was well-attended and we look forward to welcoming the stall holders back with their delicious food, refreshments, and a wide variety of arts and crafts.

“There is a lovely playground and a large playing field so you could make a day of it.

"We are hoping to have tables and chairs available to encourage people to stay longer enjoying the delicious refreshments and discovering lovely gifts.''
