A warning has been issued amid reports of scammers posing as Met Police officers in Norfolk - with one victim withdrawing £3,000 from the bank.

Calls from a person claiming to be from the Metropolitan Police have recently been reported in south Norfolk.

There have been six reports of scam phone calls in Wymondham and Hethersett since May 11.

In each incident, someone claiming to be a police officer from the Metropolitan Police has tried to obtain banking information by claiming they have a relative in custody called John Bailey who needs money.

Police have warned people not to engage with any calls like this and to report them to Action Fraud UK.
