A man was pulled from the sea earlier today after a lifeboat crew from the Hunstanton RNLI station was involved in a rescue operation.

The Spirit of West Norfolk inshore lifeboat was launched at 10.57am at Old Hunstanton beach.

A man was pulled from the water and has been taken to hospital by the East of England Ambulance Service.

An HM Coastguard spokesman said: "HM Coastguard responded to an incident at Old Hunstanton this morning, 21 May.

"At around 11am a Coastguard Rescue Team from Hunstanton and inshore lifeboat from Hunstanton RNLI were sent to the scene to assist."

Fire crews also assisted the lifeboat service on Sea Lane during the search, with police and an air ambulance also called to the scene.

The condition of the man is not yet known.
