1. Holt Sunday Market

This fantastic event in the town centre attracts visitors from far and wide on the first Sunday of every month from April until December.

It showcases the best local and independent craftspeople, designers, makers, food producers and street food traders and it importantly involves Holt's permanent shops too.

Top chef Eric Snaith, who also owns Titchwell Manor, opened Eric's Fish and Chips in the town back in 2019 after the success of the Thornham branch and the brand has won a whole host of awards.

As well as traditional fare, he keeps things interesting with regular new additions, including sharing plates introduced at the start of the year.

3. A town centre bustling with independent cafés and restaurants

The people of Holt love to support local and there are many fabulous places to eat and drink that are not part of big national chains.

This includes Star Plain Stores with a cheese and wine lounge, Owl Tea Rooms serving fantastic afternoon teas and Holt institution Byfords boasting a deli packed with treats and a charming café.

Of course, not forgetting the fantastic Meadowsweet restaurant, which holds a coveted Michelin star and is run by chef Greg Anderson and his partner Rebecca Williams.

Away from the high street, Holt is home to some big brands such as Sponge, which delivers hundreds of cakes and tray bakes across the country every day.

On a smaller scale, it is also home to thriving street food businesses such as Poke Nom, which is a regular at the Sunday Market and serves delicious poké bowls and homemade sauces.
