The owner of a Norfolk country park is reaching new heights after launching hot air balloon trips at his site.  

Ben Devlin at Old Buckenham Country Park, near Attleborough, recently acquired Broadland Balloons and the operation of its flights from Bluebell Road in Norwich and The Oaksmere Hotel in Brome, across the border in Suffolk. 

Mr Devlin has added his country park as the third location, with a mix of weekday and weekend trips.

Kirstie Kindred, the manager of Broadland Balloons, said: "The sales have really taken off at Old Buckenham and people like that they can come and tie it in with having drinks and food from the café or one of our street food pop-ups."

Mr Devlin got the buzz after the success of the Hot Air Balloon Festival he runs in the park every summer, with the next one from August 11 to 13.

Kirsty Richards, marketing manager at the park, said: "We will have more balloons than last year and more live music and activities on the ground too."
