A headmaster who has been banned from the classroom over incidents with unruly children said he is "disgusted" by the decision to prevent him from teaching.

Jordan Risebrow, previously headteacher of two separate Norfolk schools, has this month been handed a two-year ban following a misconduct hearing held in his absence.

The ban came following a trio of allegations against him while he was still in the profession.

The first allegation came while he was headteacher at Hemsby Primary School, where it was alleged Mr Risebrow had lifted a child who had punched a classmate and carried him into his office.

The misconduct panel also heard that while in charge at Henderson Green Academy in Norwich, Mr Risebrow had tipped a child off a chair and slapped a colleague in a bizarre row over a Harry Potter poster.

It is claimed that the latter incident happened when a colleague was removing the door from his office and inadvertently tore a corner of the poster.

The witness said Mr Risebrow had charged at him waving his arms "like a chimp" and slapped his hand, leaving him with a reddening and a stinging sensation.

Following a misconduct panel, the Teaching Regulation Agency opted to ban the 51-year-old from teaching for two years.

However, Mr Risebrow did not provide any evidence to the hearing and therefore the allegations against him went unchallenged and were considered proven.

But subsequently, Mr Risebrow has denied the allegations and hit out at the panel's decision.

He told the Mail: "All I can say is the allegations are false. I’ve got nothing to say. I’m disgusted with the outcome."

The incidents were said to have happened in 2019 and 2020 respectively, but the panel itself was not held until last month.

The panel was informed via Mr Risebrow's union, NASUWT, that he would not be engaging with the investigation.
