A busy north Norfolk road is closing for a week of roadworks.

The Street in Swafield is being shut by the county council for essential resurfacing works on the carriageway.

It will close on May 9 for five days, subject to weather conditions.

The carriageway surface will be replaced with new asphalt to resolve defects and make it more robust.

The Street will close between Trunch Road and Swafield Lane.

School buses and residents will retain access through the road.

Expected to cost £18,750, the works will be carried out by the county council's Community and Environmental Services Department and their contractors.

The council has thanked people for their patience while the works are carried out.
