The Norfolk Hospice Tapping House said: "Thank you to everyone who has purchased tickets the response has been extremely overwhelming over 80,000 people have tried to purchase tickets, and unfortunately, we cannot accommodate everyone.

"We have been made aware of people trying to resell their tickets, please be aware of who you are buying tickets from as some of these people are scammers."

Lucky ticket holders can stroll around Norfolk Tulips' fields filled with thousands of flowers and leave with a bunch of their own.

Lindsey Atkin, a community fundraiser for the hospice, said: "Last year, it took a few days to completely sell out, and we were expecting that there would be less interest this year as people had already been the year before.

"The tickets sold out so quickly that phones have been going all day with people desperately still trying to get one."

The speed at which tickets sold out may be explained by the event being the only place people can see the flowers in the UK.
