The inquest into the death of a Gorleston woman murdered in her own home has been adjourned to be heard later this year.

The family of Pat Holland, 83, reported concerns for her safety after they were unable to contact her in July 2021.

She had last been seen on July 24 at around 9.20pm near her home in Lowestoft Road

Last month, Allan Scott, 41, a homeless man who she allowed to lodge in her spare room, was found guilty of her murder after police found partial human remains at the house.

A jury took little over two hours to find Scott guilty, after a Norwich Crown Court trial lasting almost five weeks. Scott is due to be sentenced on May 26.

At the inquest opening, heard at Norfolk Coroners Court in September 2021, area coroner Yvonne Blake said that the cause of death was "unascertained."

She also confirmed that Winifred Patricia Holland was born in Leeds.

At a review hearing on Wednesday April 12, Mrs Blake confirmed that a pre-inquest review hearing would take place on Wednesday July 12.
