This week is a sad time for me because at the start of next month I am leaving the Norwich Evening News, so this will be my final column. 

I hope you have enjoyed reading my musings, from my hatred of Crocs as a fashion item, bemusement over people’s fascination with popstar Adele, my strong feelings that Sir Paul McCartney should hang up the microphone, and how I detest the Elf on the Shelf Christmas tradition. 

As well as the trivial subjects, I have also spoken about serious topics from my fears over the impact of social media on young people, the constant criticism over the appearance of women in the public eye and how crimes including revenge porn need to be tackled. 

I know I appear a bit grumpy, miserable and stingy, because of my love of free or low cost activities for my children - including visiting Pets at Home rather than pay for the zoo and exploring Mousehold Heath - but in truth I am a happy person. 

If you have not enjoyed my columns, I appreciate that, because it is good for people to have different opinions but I hope my thoughts have entertained or enlightened you over the past few months. 

I have loved working as a news reporter for the Evening News, EDP and its sister weeklies for more than 11 years and am proud to have worked for papers and websites which champion their communities. 

But it is time to have a new challenge in my working life.
