A south Norfolk farm will be opening its brand-new 'milk shed' tomorrow.

Attleborough Hall Farm, in Deopham Road, will be launching a self-service dairy shop, Daisy’s Milk Shed, from tomorrow morning.

Dairy farm operator, Ben Walker, 34, said about its opening: "We are just wanting to champion the great milk that our cows produce.

"It's the real deal, I like to call it."

The new shop, based out of a repurposed shipping container, will offer a range of dairy products including raw milk, coffee, milkshakes, hot chocolate and brownies from refrigerated vending machines.

Customers will be able to choose from a selection of six milkshake flavours and raw milk in either 500ml or one-litre bottles, with the sweet treats available from local baker Gooderlicious.

Mr Walker has run the dairy at the farm since 2011 which currently has 180 cows - with plans to add another 120 by the autumn. He is partnered with his sister-in-law who is heading up operations at the shop.

"Everyone seems quite keen," he said.

"There's more of a move toward locally-sourced food and people enjoy that they can see the cows in the field and know where their milk is coming from."

Although currently limited to mostly drinks, Mr Walker expressed plans to introduce products such as cheese to the shop in the future.

The farm's cows are Jersey crosses meaning their milk is very similar to the famous milk produced by cows on the island, known for their 'golden top'.

"I'm pretty confident with our location next to the town we'll get plenty of footfall," Mr Walker said on his hopes for the shop's opening.

Daisy’s Milk Shed will be open from 7am to 7pm every day and all machines will be contactless payment only.
