Aylsham has been voted the 'best place to live' in Norfolk.

Muddy Stilettos opened voting for Norfolk's best towns last year, and the results are now in.

Aylsham took the crown for its "short city commute, weekends on the beach and the pretty countryside all round".

Its top selection of restaurants and cafes was also highlighted, with foodie favourite Bread Source being there along with an outpost of Norwich's Biddy's Tearoom.

Access to outstanding Ofsted-rated schools and its proximity to Norfolk gems including Blickling Hall and the Gunton Arms also adds to Aylsham's appeal.

Norwich came in second, with Wymondham taking third place. Holt and Surlingham came in at fourth and fifth place.

Aylsham will now go through to the final round of Muddy Stilettos 'Best Place to live 2023' and compete against the other top-rated UK towns and cities.
