A brewery in south Norfolk is reopening its Taproom bar with new and extended hours after a successful change of licence and a winter refurbishment.
Grain Brewery, on South Farm in Alburgh, near Harleston, will be opening the Taproom every week on Fridays and Saturdays to showcase its popular beers to its growing number of fans and visitors.
Hilary Halls, the manager, said "We opened the Taproom some years ago, but just for one day a month, and started on a small scale.
"Since the pandemic and the increasing popularity of our beers, we found we were just so busy and faced local demand to open more often. We trialed opening weekly before Christmas and were rammed to the rafters."
As well as the extended hours of opening, new equipment has been installed, using brass and copper fittings.
New furniture has also been put in place, including German beer festival bierkeller tables and 'keg seats', made locally by a retired Rolls-Royce upholsterer.
Director Phil Halls said: "This is the best way for us to showcase our ales and lagers and give those unfamiliar with Grain the opportunity to try the beers at source.
"We also offer a local and friendly community environment to the village of Alburgh, which lost its last pub many years ago."
Brewery tours will be available on selected days by booking through the brewery website, and if visitors want even more to do, Phil has created an app-based escape room called 'The Grain Escape' allowing puzzlers to search for clues, solve puzzles, while learning all about Grain and the brewing process at the same time.
The Taproom opens on March 3, and will be open every Friday and Saturday from midday until 7pm.
