Alan Jaye, an incident commander with Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service, said: “When the crew got here, they found it to be well alight and called for additional resources.

"There were eight appliances in the end and one aerial platform."

All appliances have left the scene with a stop time of 1.24pm.

Investigations into the cause are ongoing.

People living in Ludham were warned to keep doors and windows closed due to the amount of smoke.

The building is reported to have been an old forge, a dairy and a bakery in the past.
