An RSPCA centre in Norfolk is appealing for help to save the lives of two critically injured seals.

East Winch Wildlife centre, near King's Lynn, is calling for urgent help after being given two seals, Ursula and Cruella, who have been donated to the sanctuary with critical injuries.

The centre has called out to the public for help and launched an Amazon wishlist and a JustGiving fund to be able to feed the seals and buy salt to treat their injuries.

Evangelos Achilleos, from the RSPCA centre, said: "We're going through 250kg of salt a day and two tonnes of fish a month because we have around 60 seals, we need fish to feed them all and salt for the seals that have injuries."

Ursula, a juvenile seal pup was admitted to the centre after sustaining injuries from a nylon netting she was caught in. She received deep wounds around the neck and the centre is giving her salt baths to help drain the infection, and slowly heal the injury.

The two critically injured seals are being closely monitored while the team work around the clock to ensure their survival.

Mr Achilleos said: "Ursula is doing alright, although we are working relentlessly to try and get them through and it is still very early days."

A second adult seal, Cruella, has also been admitted with injuries from a piece of industrial rubber piping.

Mr Achilleos said: "Cruella is nearly double the size and also has horrific injuries".

Injured seals are easier to spot at this time of the year as they come out of the water to moult on beaches in Norfolk.
