Plans to build seven homes in an East Suffolk village have been given the green light.

The homes will be built in Ilketshall St Lawrence with the site being situated on land west of Halesworth Road.

An application for the development was first submitted to East Suffolk Council in August 2022, and on February 27 the plans were approved.

The homes outlined in the plans comprise four houses and three bungalows.

All homes will be built with solar panels and six of them are affordable.

One of the homes is an "open market property", one of the detached properties.

The two-storey houses, which will be fronting the street, are of traditional form with a mix of traditional and contemporary materials.

The three bungalows are to be of a suburban character and will gain access from a shared access drive situated in the centre of the site.

Its applicant says the development would provide "much-needed affordable housing".
