A Norfolk nature reserve is once again opening up to children for free to those affected by the upcoming teacher strikes.

Pensthorpe Natural Park, near Fakenham, is offering free entry for youngsters to its 700-acre reserve on Wednesday, March 1.

There is one free ticket with every full-price paying adult and families will be able to learn about nature and wild birds in stunning surroundings.

Adults can either pay on the day or with proof of a full-price adult or senior ticket purchased online for Wednesday.

The park also ran the offer during the teacher strikes on February 1, when thousands of schools were closed or partially closed as staff in England and Wales took to the picket lines over pay and conditions.

National Education Union (NEU) members in England will walk out on March 1 in the east midlands, west midlands and the east.

Then on March 15 and 16, NEU members in England and Wales will take nationwide industrial action.

Schools decide how to handle strike days on an individual basis.
