Traffic around the city was brought to a crawl this lunchtime as Just Stop Oil protestors went on a "go slow" march through Norwich.

Some drivers honked their horns in frustration as around 25 members of the environmental group took to the streets with banners while chanting.

In posts on Just Stop Oil's Twitter page, a van can be seen mounting the curb to pass people in St Crispins Road.

Protestors can then be seen making their way slowly down Westwick Street - with a police car following closely behind - and into the city centre to London Street.

Frances Davies, a 20-year-old cafe worker from Norwich on the march, said: "I'm taking action because I want to be able to go outside in the summer, I want to have a life, a career and I want to grow old.

"All of that is at stake because our government chooses profit over life.

"I've lost faith in all other methods of protest.

"What else can I do? I've been backed into a corner by the government.

"I can sit by and watch everything we've built fall apart, or I can resist."

Just Stop Oil has courted plenty of controversy in recent years for its persistently disruptive protest tactics.

The 'go slow' march In Norwich comes on the same day as similar action in locations including Brighton and Liverpool.
