A vintage car show that brings together planes and automobiles is returning for its 12th year.

The event held at Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum in Flixton has grown to become one of the biggest shows of the year for petrolheads.

It is organised by the car club East Coast Pirates which has been running shows throughout the county for nearly two decades.

Organiser Steve Skinner said: "We can't wait to come back for our 12th year at Flixton and we are so glad we can do these shows.

"It has become a big event and is always packed and has become the highlight of some people's summer.

"When the sun is shining people flood in all day to visit. It's a brilliant day."

More than 50 aircraft will be on display on Sunday, May 14, along with hundreds of classic cars including hot rods, American muscle cars and more.

The free event is open from 10am to 5pm and people can enjoy food from the café but those looking for a more substantial meal can visit the nearby Buck Inn for a Sunday carvery.

The event is one of many in the region this summer organised by East Coast Pirates, which holds regular meet-ups at the Joyland American Diner in Great Yarmouth.

The group was started 17 years ago by Mr Skinner, who runs it along with his wife Miranda.

Mr Skinner added: "I've always been into cars and used to belong to a couple of other clubs but they folded.

"It started off with just a group of friends getting together but progressed from there.

"It is great to be a part of this community and over the years we have helped raise thousands for charity through the events.

"We've become a bit of a tourist attraction in Great Yarmouth and help bring people to the seafront."
