Two comedy stars are joining forces to support an appeal to help a team of Norfolk lifesavers get a new vessel.

Jim Davidson and Bobby Davro will be performing at Great Yarmouth's Britannia Pier in April in support of Caister Lifeboat.

The gig on the night of Sunday, April 30 will help raise funds for Caister Lifeboat's appeal to build a £1.6m new Medina class vessel and its associated launching equipment.

Mr Davidson has supported the Caister Lifeboat organisation as a patron after meeting some members of the crew in Great Yarmouth more than 30 years ago.

The comedian, who shot to fame in the late 1970s and hosted several primetime BBC programmes including The Generation Game and Big Break, said returning to Great Yarmouth is always nostalgic.

He says he is always pleased to support the brave lifeboat team, which he has called a "terrific bunch".

He performed two nights at the pier last year. His first ever show in the town was in the late 1970s at the ABC theatre.

Mr Davro has also performed at the Britannia Pier.
