Two top folk acts are coming together for a special performance in Beccles later this month.

The Shackleton Trio and Christina Alden & Alex Patterson – are joining forces in a new five-piece band which they have called “Kitewing” with their short debut tour ending at the Canopy Theatre Hungate Church in Beccles on Saturday, February 18.

The Shackleton Trio - Georgia Shackleton (fiddle, vocals), Aaren Bennett (guitar) and Nic Zuppardi (mandolin) - are said to be an “in demand” name on the UK and international folk circuit.

They have all featured on national and local BBC radio and have appeared on Cambridge Folk Festival's main stage alongside a host of UK and European festivals and international tours.

Christina Alden & Alex Patterson have been playing together for many years performing songs and tunes, many of which are original compositions, on guitar, fiddle, tenor guitar, banjo and the shruti box.

Their songs have also been played on national and local BBC radio.

The show starts at 8p.m. with tickets at £12 from www.ticketsource.co.uk/martello-promotions
