A unique Norfolk café has just the ticket for a delightful trip out, with afternoon tea and other treats to be enjoyed on a restored double-decker bus.

Blakeys Bus Café has been based in the Mulbarton Village Hall car park since 2016 and it overlooks The Common.

It was converted from a 1956 Bristol Lodekka bus and there is seating for 22 people on the top deck, with the kitchen downstairs and tables outside too.

Sam Smith, the owner, said: "Mulbarton is a large village but there was nowhere to go for a coffee and cake.

"There weren't any buildings to rent so I decided to do something a bit more unique and bought the bus from Essex and it was renovated in Wisbech.

"Everything is served on vintage china cups and saucers and I serve homemade quiches, scones, breakfasts baguettes, cakes and much more, with afternoon tea available with a day's notice."

She also offers the bus for private hire and does outside catering as a way to adapt amid rising costs.

She added: "The elderly love it as it brings back memories and for children, we have toys too."

The café is open Tuesday to Saturday 9.30am to 4pm.
