The chef at a Norfolk pub is bringing something new to the table in 2023 with "quirky new additions" to the menu.

The Green Dragon in Wymondham has introduced new dishes including smash burgers, kimchi-loaded fries and poke bowls.

The Green Dragon was taken on by Jill Tickle of Tickle's Taverns last year and the head chef is James Stewart, who previously worked in a two-AA rosette pub in Bedfordshire. 

Tash Stewart, the manager, said: "We still have the everyday pub classics and Sunday roast, but we wanted to elevate the menu to give the town something different with a few quirky additions."

Tickle's Taverns also took on The Kings Head in Hethersett in 2022, with the head chef Michael Mann.

There are new dishes there too, including Korean fried chicken bao buns and Reuben sandwiches, and a coffee lounge is open from 10am daily with cakes and pastries.

There are a whole host of themed events planned at both pubs, with quiz and chips and comedy and curry nights at The Kings Head and Burns supper and gin and rum nights at The Green Dragon.
