Often referred to as Chelsea-on-Sea, a Norfolk village popular with holidaymakers has been named one of the most upmarket places in the UK yet again.

Burnham Market features in a new list by The Times of the UK's top 22 poshest villages and it is the only one in Norfolk.

It is given a three-star posh rating out of five and is beaten by Walberswick in Suffolk with four stars.

Writers Fleur Britten and Francisca Kellett praise Burnham Market for its range of independent shops, mentioning "fashion finds at Anna, interiors at Norfolk Living and food and deli bits from Gurneys".

Food spots highlighted are The Hoste and No Twenty9, though there is a glaring omission of the award-winning tapas restaurant Socius.

The pair also highlight the high number of second homeowners who "come for the sailing club at nearby Brancaster or to walk their labradors on the epic beaches".

In December, Burnham Market was also featured in a list by The Telegraph of the poshest places to live in the UK.
