With its meandering waterways and vast open skies, Norfolk's landscape has captured the hearts of many.
And while Janet Street-Porter says she rarely cries in public, the beauty of the Broads makes her fight back the tears.
The Loose Women star made the comments in her column for the Daily Mail, in which she mocked the England football team for crying after losing against France in the Qatar World Cup, saying "I cry less than macho men".
In the column, the TV personality said: " I am a secret sniveller. Not a public gusher.
"The things that make me well up in private are pretty random.
"Landscapes really touch my soul. A glorious sunset on the Norfolk Broads can make me emotional — the utterly gorgeous huge expanse of sky, the emptiness, the stripes of blazing reds and yellows."
Street-Porter moved to Thurlton in Norfolk in 2019 in search of a "good life in the countryside."
