A convoy of dazzling performance cars turned heads and put smiles on faces after taking a spin to a children’s hospice this year.

The eye-catching Santa Drive featured 45 gleaming machines that made their way to the East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) base in Framingham Earl, south of Norwich.

The fantastic fleet included 25 Porsches, in addition to Maclarens, Lamborghinis, Ferraris and Aston Martins and was organised by Chatsbrook Finance.

Director Adrian Brooks said: “It was something we’d never done before but a huge success and definitely something we’ll repeat in 2023.

“It had been in my mind since before Covid, after attending a Chamber of Commerce networking event in 2019.

“One of the guest speakers was a bereaved parent who spoke so passionately about the care and support his family received from EACH.

“It was very emotive and that’s what got me thinking about a Santa Drive.

“The turnout of cars was stunning and the convoy caused quite a stir, as you can imagine.

“The children at the hospice loved seeing them, too.

“It was very humbling and our huge thanks go to everyone who got in the spirit and made the event possible.”

The convoy started at Chatsbrook’s Ketteringham Hall headquarters in Church Road, Ketteringham, and snaked its way just over 11 miles to The Nook, with Santa at the wheel of the Chatsbook Defender.

Children and young people receiving care, in addition to siblings, staff and their families, were able to sit in the cars and pose for pictures. The hospice team also invited eight young people with Muscular Dystrophy.

People had bought tickets in advance and, in total, the event raised more than £4,200 for Each.

Santa and one of his elves were part of the convoy and the total raised has already “far exceeded” expectations.

It includes £3,790 from a JustGiving page, in addition to £264.90 from donations on the day, bringing a total of £4,264.90.

The event, which took place on December 20, coincided with a sibling group at The Nook.

Eleven brothers and sisters of children and young people receiving care enjoyed playing team games and taking part in creative activities, including decorating t-shirts and icing Christmas cookies.
