The Red Lion in Drayton reopening after huge refurbishment

The Red Lion in Drayton was closed for more than a month while it underwent a makeover.

Inside has had a lick of paint and new decor to create a "modern feel" with new booths to match the character of the building.

Outside, the beer garden has had an extension to increase capacity by more than 400pc with a heated pergola, WiFi and a new play area.

The £100,000 work has created 17 new jobs at the pub, which was built in 1678 and is Grade II listed.

General Manager, Kathryn Kedzlie, said: “We are delighted to finally be able to show our customers all the amazing changes that we’ve made.

"We can’t wait for our regulars to see the transformation, particularly our new outside area, which we know will be popular year-round.

“We wanted to bring a hint of luxury to our local community in Drayton and I think that’s exactly what we’ve done.

"We have a fantastic new food menu that is not to be missed and that alongside our new look gives the feel of being in a city centre without losing the warmth of a village pub.”

The pub has also updated its menu and has new craft beer lines and cocktail selections.

To celebrate the reopening, the pub is giving away a £50 bar tab to spend on the new food and drink menus.

The Red Lion in Fakenham Road, Drayton, is reopening this Friday, December 16.
