A Norfolk barn conversion and an eco-home designed by a Norwich firm are expected to appear on tonight's episode of Grand Designs: House of the Year.

The show, which is now in its seventh series, follows Kevin McCloud, architect Damion Burrows, design expert Michelle Ogundehin and conservation Natasha Huq as they visit the spectacular homes competing for the 2022 RIBA House of the Year.

The award is given to the best example of a one-off house designed by an architect in the UK and celebrates excellence and innovation in property design.

This year, a Norfolk barn conversion and a Passivhaus designed by a Norwich firm but built in the Fens are among the contenders, as well as a Victorian extension in the Golden Triangle.

Over the past three weeks, the show has featured many of the 20 properties longlisted for this year’s award - and revealed six of the seven properties on the shortlist.

Tonight’s episode, which airs at 9pm on Channel 4, will take a look around the remaining homes on the longlist before revealing the seventh and final home in the running and announcing 2022’s overall winner.

It’s not the first time that a home in Norfolk has appeared on the show. Last year, The Water Tower in Castle Acre appeared on the shortlist.
