Make sure that New Year's Day goes off with a bang by heading to the Norfolk coast for a fantastic free fireworks display in Cromer.

The 2023 event takes place on the evening of Sunday, January 1 and in 2022 more than 15,000 people attended.

Here is all you need to know ahead of the display.

Where does the Cromer fireworks display take place and what time is it?

The display is put on by Titanium Fireworks and will be set off from Cromer Pier at 5pm, lasting around 15 minutes.

The day's events are organised by The New Year's Day Fireworks Committee, a sub-committee of the Town Council, in partnership with Cromer Carnival.

What else is going on for New Year's Day in the town centre?

The North Norfolk Beach Runners have organised a family fun run along the promenade at 3pm, with registration from 2.30pm at the pier forecourt.

Torches for the torchlight procession will be on sale from 2pm outside Cromer Museum, priced at £5 each.

The procession begins at 4.30pm from St Peter and St Paul's Church and those who have purchased a torch will get a prime viewing spot for the fireworks.

There will also be 1,000 raffle tickets for sale for £1 each outside Cromer Museum and at the pier box office to win the chance to start the fireworks display alongside mayor Pat West.

Will there be any food and drink?

There will be mulled wine for sale outside Cromer Museum, but apart from that visitors are encouraged to support the existing local businesses.
