The father of a missing Gorleston man said his family has been helplessly waiting "every day for Pawel to come home".

Pawel Martyniak, from Carrel Road, was last seen in the area at around 6pm on Tuesday, November 30, 2021.

That same evening, a witness reported seeing Pawel walking along Victoria Road in the direction of Park Road.

Since then, the Martyniak family and Norfolk Constabulary have been involved in searches and handing out flyers asking for information on Pawel's whereabouts.

In a new plea yesterday (November 29), police said they had been "looking for signs of life, conducting financial checks and responding to the sightings" - with officers deployed to London to assist with possible sightings, but Pawel has still not been found.

Pawel's family continues to wait for him to return.

"It's still a very difficult time, getting worse by the day," Mr Martyniak said.

“This has been the most heart-breaking and challenging year of our lives”

"We're still unsure about Pawel’s well-being, and we are very concerned he may be injured or unwell.”

Mr Martyniak said he is in touch with several missing person groups around the UK and he continues to advertise in different places.

"We just want to know he is alive and well. The uncertainty is killing us," Mr Martyniak said.

Pawel - also known as Paul - studied business at the University of Essex, before deciding to leave midway through his first year.

Mr Martyniak said he believes Pawel might be around the Colchester area.

"We have put up plenty of missing posters around London, as well," Mr Martyniak said.

"As he could be anywhere, putting up posters and spreading the word far and wide will raise awareness and increase our chances of finding him and making sure he returns home safely.

"We did have some information about a possible sighting, but it was not confirmed to have been Pawel.

"We are still waiting for Pawel. We think about him and miss him every passing day.

"Our hearts grow more and more empty.

"Anytime he wants to come home or get in touch, he will be welcome."

Mr Martyniak is described as white, approximately 5 ft 10 in height, and of medium build with brown curly hair and dark facial hair.
